Overview
Château TOUR PEZ is a Cru Bourgeois of 30 ha, located in SaintEstèphe in Médoc, one of the most famous wine regions of France. The name of the hamlet of Pez originated in the sixteenth century manor owned by families and Pontac Fumel, formerly owner of Haut-Brion. It was not until 1931 that the property will definitely called “Château TOUR PEZ” because the tower built in the thirteenth century dominated buildings and parcels identified in the land under the name of PEZ.
The Tour de Pez has a well defined, slightly more extrovert bouquet with mint tinged red berry fruit and hints of chocolate. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and plenty of pure, earthy red berry fruit that are crisp and beautifully defined on the lingering finish. This exceeds my expectations after its barrel showing.
